Masala Sausages

Pork is a non-vegetarians delight.. at-least that’s what the Mangalorean in me thinks.. and I also agree with a lot of people when they say that Pork is the tastiest meat ever.. 🙂 Pork preparations from Coorg (A small region in the state of Karnataka, India which is beautiful & known for it’s Coffee estates & lovely climate) rocks too. Check out for restaurants that serve Coorgi Pork, you sure won’t be disappointed. 

This lovely recipe is from a friend Padmini.. :).. Guess what?? we both happen to be born on the same day & we both share a similar passion for food. She is an amazing cook..!!I always looked forward to her parties, yummy food & fun evenings. She often prepares this as a starter when we have get-together’s at her place. On hot Bangalore evenings.. a pint of chilled beer and yummy masala pork sausages to go with it… couldn’t ask for anything more….!

Ingredients: (Serves 2)   Preparation Time: 10 mins 
Pork Sausages – 4-5 medium-sized, I used skin-less pork sausages
Red Onion – 1 Medium sized, finely chopped
Green Chilli’s – 2 chopped finely, you can increase it based on your spice intake
Curry Leaves – 1 sprig
Garlic pods – 1 finely chopped
Black peppercorns – 2 or 3 crushed, you can increase it based on your spice intake
Oil – tbsp
Salt to taste

Defrost the sausages completely.. Cut the sausages into bite size pieces…
Heat oil in a frying pan set to medium heat. Add the chilli’s and fry for a minute, so that the spice from the chilli’s gets into the oil. Add the garlic and sauté for a few seconds. Next add the onions and fry till they are half done. Add the cut sausages and fry them till they turn brownish from all sides and the onions turn crispy too.

When the sausages are almost done add the curry leaves, crushed black peppercorns and mix well.

Serving Suggestions:
Serve hot, they taste yummy as is.. if you like sauces with your starters then use the one you like..

  1. hey Anitha…this is my favourite quick fix bite for a drink with friends …i like d addittion of curry leaves..u could also try to use light soya sauce instead of salt…it gives it a wonderful taste xx


      1. I tried the masala sausages altho’ substituted pork sausages with chicken sausages n added soya sauce,a pinch of cardamom powder for flavour… turned out so yum……my hubby tasted a bit n skipped the gym coz he wanted dinner right away !!
